My name is Amin Dimonye, and I’m 16 years old. I recently moved to Switzerland alone to focus on my music and various art forms. I write and produce my Music by myself. I’ve been learning my instruments and producing for 5–6 years, and studying the greats in all genres.
In the last year or so, I learned a lot about the music industry and what I’m getting into, really realizing the importance of music rights and all the ways to earn income from your music that a traditional major label would take from you. (I write about this on my Substack.) I’m against the idea of traditional major label deals and choose to stay independent for that reason. I stand against AI music and stand for independent artists starting out their careers like me.
I’ve always loved to draw and illustrate as a kid, and over time and life, I think I developed a way of expression through my visual art. My paintings aren’t available for sale yet, but they probably will be in the future.
I’ve been writing a Substack email newsletter for over a year and really enjoy doing it. I am a beginner in poetry, but I am fascinated by it and love to incorporate it into my lyrics. I treat my Substack newsletter as an extension of my journal (I write in my journal and then digitize it into my newsletter). I also do informational posts on various topics and hurdles artists face in their independent careers
